WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN!

Kids-Hold-Welcome-Picture.jpg (1800×572)
Kindergarten is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning!
This is the year of important transitions, as well as one in which acquisitions of new skills is accelerated.
Parents as well as children may have some apprehensions about what will happen. It is extremely important
to keep in mind that we build on small successes. Each child will progress at his/her own individual rate,
acquiring skills as s/he is developmentally ready. Maintaining each child's self-esteem and building a secure
foundation for future growth will always remain a priority in our Kindergarten room!

In this I ask for your cooperation: APPLAUD every accomplishment, no matter how small it may seem.
This will keep enthusiasm for learning alive and GROWING! The most lovely flowers usually have
the best gardener~ AND THAT IS YOU!

Staying involved in your child's education is the key to a successful year. Engage your child in conversation
about his/her day, but know that children may not always give out much information. I will post weekly and
sometimes daily activities and up coming events in our BLOG. You can use this blog as a springboard for
discussion. Another way to stay involved is to check your child's take home folder EVERY evening. It will
be filled with completed work papers, flyers and notices from the office!

Here is to a YEAR FULL OF HAPPINESS AND LEARNING!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The kindergarten team is looking forward to having your child/children in our classroom
in the fall.  We have included some supplies your child will need for kindergarten.  Supplies
will be collected and put into a group collection for our whole class. Please do not send in
special items intended for your child only. Please DO NOT write your child’s name on the
items because then they become attached and it makes sharing more difficult.

  • Glue sticks (we always run out so a multi-pack is great!)
  • School scissors
  • Yellow #2 pencils (Ticonderoga are the BEST!)
  • Crayola Crayons box of 24 (No RoseArt. Crayola works the best)
  • Boxes of tissues
  • Clorox Wipes
  • A 1 inch, white “Durable View Binder” (available at Staples or Walmart). It has
special plastic sleeve over it.
  • Dry Erase EXPO brand markers, BLACK only. Multi packs are greatly appreciated.
Thick and thin markers are needed.
  • Quart and Gallon size zipper Ziploc bags
  • Colored Pens (Walmart, variety of colors)
  • 1 bottle of Elmers White Glue
  • Paper Towels
  • Colored Pencils Crayola

THANK YOU in advance for all your support. Have a safe and happy summer!
Be sure to look for sales to purchase your items! We appreciate your classroom
donations GREATLY!

PLEASE BRING IN THE ITEMS DURING OUR OPEN
HOUSE .
