Looking at what's to come week of 9/28

Good afternoon!

 

Sorry this isn't getting to you until now! My boys had football this morning at 8 am and I've been at the field since then! We are finally home cheering on our Patriots. 

REMINDERS: 

1. BOX TOPS: Please help support our school by clipping and sending in BOX TOPS!

 

2. Bring you best smiles on Tuesday, September 29!  It's our picture day!

 

3. Wednesday, September 30 is our first BLUE RIBBON Weston Spirit Assembly! One member of our Huard Huddle will be recognized for his or her BLUE RIBBON behavior! Each day they practice the 3 B's....

4. Ice Cream starts on Friday! Please pay Thursday if you  haven't prepaid for the year. Students will still need a snack in the morning. Slight change to morning snack: we eat as soon as we come in! This interferes less with our learning time and holds them over until lunch. Please be sure they have a nice healthy snack since it is so early in the day!  

5. Monday, September 28: fundraiser money is due

Readers Workshop: This week we are continuing our work with alphabet books and colors!

   

Word Work: This week I will begin introducing the letters T, B and F. We will learn to write the letter, learn it's sound and learn picture clues to help us remember the letter.  Use the pictures below to guide your children. We will say T, top, /t/  B, bat, /b/  F, fun, /f/. We will also continue with using our names to learn about beginning sounds, and counting letters in our names.

Book bags will go home this week. Please be sure they come to school each day!

A Peek at Our Week of Sep. 21

Good Morning Huard Huddle!


Hard to believe we have two weeks under our belt. I have enjoyed watching your children adjust to our routines. Many of them are very independent with daily routines already!

Thank you to all of you who took time out of your busy lives to attend Open House.  It is so important for your child to see how much you value their education and want to be a part of it! 

REMINDERS:

2 snacks packed each day. We do a very quick morning snack (food only) around 9:00 am.  I do encourage this to be a healthy one! At 1:00 pm we have our afternoon snack!

September 23, 2015 if the first day of FALL!

Readers Workshop: We will be sharing the fabulous stories about PETE THE CAT! If you don't know Pete I highly suggest watching this video....THE KIDS LOVED IT!

Our focus this week will be on talking about character (PETE) and RHYMING and ALPHABET work

    

Math: We cover many kindergarten math skills each day during our daily calendar wall routine. This week we will be launching into our new math series MY MATH by McGraw Hill.

 

In Writing we are looking at our friend's names and counting their letters, looking at beginning sounds and learning how to draw them. At the end of our name unit each student will have a book of their drawings for each student in our Huard Huddle!
